  • 4 Cups of Apples Sliced  (Recommend Jonathan Apples)
  • 1 Cup of Oatmeal
  • 1/3 Cup of Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 TSP Salt
  • 1/3 Cup of Butter
  • Cinnamon
 

Peal and slice apples into a 9 inch round glass dish. 

Sugar apples to taste and sprinkle with cinnamon. 

Combine all dry ingredients, add melted butter and mix until they are crumbly. 

Spread  over apples. 

Bake 350 until topping is light brown and apples are soft.  

 

Apple Butter Cake

 

 

Cake

Cream sugar and butter, add eggs. 

Sift dry ingredients together and add to batter. 

Add apples and nuts.  Stir until mixed thoroughly. 

Bake in 9 X 13 inch prepared pan for a total of 1 hour at 350 degrees for 15 minutes and then 300 degrees for the last 45 minutes. 

Use a toothpick to test for doneness. 

Sauce

Cook together all ingredients over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture coats a spoon. 

**  We like it best when you cut a slice of cake and then ladle some sauce over it. 

 

 

Cake

  • 2 Cups of Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of Butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Cups of Flour
  • 1 TSP Baking Soda
  • 2-4 TSP Cinnamon
  • 1 TSP Nutmeg
  • 1 TSP Salt
  • 4 Cups Diced Apples
  • 1 Cup of Chopped Nuts (If desired)

 Sauce

  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of Half and Half  (Can be substituted with milk)
  • 1/2 Cup of Butter or Oleo

 

Pie Crust  

 

Mix 2 1/2 Cups of flour and Crisco until crumbly.  Recommend using a pastry blender.

Mix Water, remaining flour, and salt to make a uniform paste.

Combine paste with flour Crisco mix.  Flatten with a rolling pen.

 
  • 2 1/2 Cups of Flour (Crust)
  • 1 1/3 Butter Flavored Crisco
  • 1/3 Cup of Flour (Paste)
  • 1/2 Cup of Cold Water
  • 1/4 tsp of Salt

 

Caramel Dip  

 

Blend all ingredients.  Chill for at least a half hour.

 
  • 1 (8 oz.) Package of Cream Cheese
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Watkins Caramel Flavoring
